Almeida offered to English suitors

Hugo Almeida could be set for a loan move to England in the transfer window.

Porto striker Hugo Almeida could be set for a loan move to England in the transfer window.

Almeida is well down the pecking order at the UEFA Champions League holders and they are willing to loan him out.

Porto have enlisted the help of Almeida's representative to help find him a move.

Almeida could be set for a move to England, with a number of clubs believed to have enquired about taking the 20-year-old on loan for the rest of the season.

Crystal Palace and Bolton are both thought to be leading the chase to bring the Portuguese international to The Premiership.

Bolton are on the lookout for a new striker, having lost Kevin Davies to injury and seen Les Ferdinand leave.

Palace are also in the market for a forward as they look to ease the burden on top scorer Andy Johnson and they could be keen on taking Almeida on loan.

Any move looks difficult as Porto only want to let him go to a club where he will get regular first team action and the English teams are insisting on having an option to buy him if he impresses while on loan, which Porto do not want to do.

If the offers from England do not suit Porto they could decide to loan him out to Braga so he can get valuable first team action.
