Chesterfield have been boosted by the news they have secured Jamie McMaster's services on loan from Leeds United for another month.

The 21-year-old Australian has just completed a four-week spell at The Spireites, but will now be available for Roy McFarland for an additional month.

McMaster has found first-team appearances hard to come by at Elland Road, culminating in a loan move to Coventry City last season.

R's boss McFarland confirmed over the weekend he was keen to retain the Whites youngster longer than the one month he was due to spend at Saltergate.

"Jamie McMaster's had a month with us. I think he'd like to stay here for a further month. We are now firming that up with his particular club," said McFarland.

McMaster has impressed during his Second Division spell, making five appearances and scoring two goals including Chesterfield's second in their 2-0 win over Peterborough.

The same cannot be said for on-loan midfielder Derek Niven, who has returned to Bolton Wanderers after a two-month spell at Saltergate.

Meanwhile, Leeds are set to lose the services of defender Michael Duberry for a short period with a rib injury.

"Michael's got a problem with his ribs and the physio said he could be out for a few weeks," said manager Eddie Gray.
