Blackburn v Bolton preview

Blackburn Rovers boss Graeme Souness has defensive problems ahead of the club's crunch Premiership clash against Bolton Wanderers at Ewood Park.

Craig Short is absent with a hamstring injury and Souness will be hoping Andy Todd is available after missing the side's 2-2 draw against Wolves on Wednesday with a calf problem.

Rovers have won two of their last six Premiership matches, drawing and losing the other two, and can leapfrog their Lancashire rivals with a win on Saturday.

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce will definitely have to rearrange his defence for the trip to Blackburn with Ricardo Gardner ruled out with a knee injury.

Simon Charlton is set to move from his central role out to left back with Emerson Thome likely to partner Bruno N'Gotty at the heart of the Trotters defence.

Nigerian talisman Jay-Jay Okocha will make his 50th start for Bolton if he is named in the starting line-up, while Javi Moreno is set to continue his Premiership education from the bench.

The Atletico Madrid loan signing had a 30-minute run out against Manchester United on Wednesday, but looked short of match fitness in the 2-1 defeat.
