BOLTON WANDERERS manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he may indeed turn his attentions to Turkish star Hakan Sukur.

The Turk is available on a free transfer, after he left Blackburn Rovers when his short team deal came to an end.

A number of clubs are now being linked with the 31-year-old - with Bolton being one of these.

Allardyce has always denied that he had an interest, but he has now confirmed that the player is one he is now considering for next season.

"We need eight players for next season and we are working on that now," Allardyce told Skysports.

When asked about Sukur he said: "He is one on our list yes.

"We are just trying to work out who his agent is so that we can talk to him, at the moment there are about five saying they represent him.

"Once we have found out who his agent is, hopefully from him, then we will look to begin talks."

Meanwhile, Allardyce has insisted that the club have not received a single offer for Jay-Jay Okocha.

The Nigerian international dazzled the Trotters faithful last season with his sublime skills that played a part in keeping them in The Premiership.

The former PSG man has been linked with moves away from The Reebok as a result of his form towards the end of the season, but has yet to be offered a deal.

Okocha still has a year to run on his current Bolton deal and Allardyce is confident he will be able to count on the Super Eagles star next term.

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Allardyce insists there has been no offers for Okocha from any club.

"Speculation has been rife since the season ended but we haven't even received one enquiry," Allardyce told the club's website.

"He's due back in the country next week and we'll then discuss his preparations with Bolton Wanderers for the start of the season."
