BOLTON WANDERERS have dramatically resurrected their move for Nantes striker Pierre-Yves Andre, even though Lille announced they had snared his services on Friday morning.

Sam Allardyce has moved back in for a player he had on trial at The Reebok Stadium because Michael Ricketts is on his way to Middlesbrough for talks over a £4 million switch.

Bolton had stated on their official website that they would not be following up their interest in the striker, who was recommended to Allardyce by his pal Peter Reid.

Lille had declared that a six-month contract had been agreed in order to bring the target man to the club, following overnight negotiations with Nantes.

Although Nantes chairman Jean-Luc Gripond did assert that Bolton were also still in the frame on Friday, Lille were clearly in the driving seat.

However, the French side declared in a statement: "Andre has not wished to sign the contract after receiving a last-minute request originating from Premiership club Bolton, who are just about to sell one of their attackers."
