Bolton`s Andre bid peters out

BOLTON WANDERERS' bid for Pierre-Yves Andre looks to be definitely off, with Lille set to sign the striker.

The tall hit-man was keen to move to The Reebok Stadium, after a trial with Sam Allardyce's men, but Wanderers' capture of Valencia's Salva Ballesta cast great doubt over the possibility of a deal being struck.

Nantes chairman Jean-Luc Gripond insisted Bolton were still in the frame, but a transfer to Lille is now looking the likeliest outcome before the transfer window slams shut.

"An agreement has been found with Bolton," stated Gripond. "But an agreement is still possible with Lille."

A six-month loan switch is on the cards following talks with LOSC coach Claude Puel.

The former Bastia striker also had contact with St Etienne, Le Havre and Troyes.
