BRADFORD have suffered a blow with the news that Danny Cadamarteri faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.

The former Everton striker has been playing through the pain barrier with tendonitis in his knee.

It was hoped that rest might cure the problem but Bantams boss Nicky Law has decided to send him under the knife to finally cure the problem

The problem had been preventing Cadamarteri from training and he is expected to be out of action for a few months.

Meanwhile, Steve Banks has returned to Bolton after picking up an injury.

The highly-rated goalkeeper, who had been on a loan deal at Valley Parade, was stretchered off injured during last week's defeat to Wimbledon and has returned to The Reebok Stadium for treatment.
