NEW Bolton signing Chris Armstrong is set to end his injury nightmare by turning out for the reserves on Monday night.

Armstrong, who joined Bolton in the summer after being released by Tottenham, has been sidelined for the past two years with a series of niggling injuries.

The former Crystal Palace ace never featured for Spurs last season due to knee and ankle injuries and he only made nine appearances the season before that.

Trotters boss Sam Allardyce sent away the 31-year-old for specialist treatment to finally cure him of his injuries and now he is ready to kick-start his career again.

Allardyce is confident that Armstrong can fight for a place in the first team after a few outings in the reserves, starting with Sunderland.

"All Chris is lacking is match-fitness, but once he has had a couple of reserve games he will be almost there," said Allardyce.
