BOLTON WANDERERS' trialist keeper Michael Bertocchi had a night to forget in the reserve team's 4-1 home defeat to Sunderland.

Trotters boss Sam Allardyce is looking for a new goalie, following Jussi Jaaskelainen's sending off against Newcastle, and Steve Banks suffering a dislocated finger, but it would appear a safe bet that Bertocchi will not be handed that responsibility.

The new face was withdrawn after only 35 minutes, with Sunderland 3-0 ahead at that stage, to allow rookie Chris Williams a run-out.

Although the ship was steadied somewhat, only a late consolation by David Norris saved some face for Wanderers.

On the eve of a daunting trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, Allardyce has at least been buoyed by the news that Banks will be recovered in time to sit on the bench.

"At the moment, we haven't found anyone but we are still looking," said the Bolton boss.

"Jussi and Steve will be okay for this Saturday but, for the next game, we'll need to sort something out."
