MARSHALL IN TAYLOR SWIPE

BOLTON WANDERERS forward Ian Marshall has taken a swipe at Leicester City boss Peter Taylor, for `leaving him in limbo`.

Marshall, who is currently turning out for The Trotters in a non-contract capacity, was dumped when Taylor replaced now Celtic boss Martin O`Neill - a move that has angered the 34-year-old.

A clearly disappointed Marshall said: "Peter Taylor told me I was not welcome to train with the lads at Leicester.

"He made it very clear that I was not wanted at Filbert Street and that was that.

"After four years at the club, I was a bit disappointed to be to be told that I was no longer able to train with them. But I wasn`t in the new manager's plans and I just had to get on with it.

"I had to train on my own and pound the roads until Bolton gave me the chance.

"Leicester left me in limbo."

Meanwhile, Taylor is said to be set to up his bid for Wigan's highly-rated young keeper Roy Carroll.

The 22-year-old has attracted interest from a host of top-flight clubs, including Liverpool, but the former Gillingham boss is reportedly weighing up an improved £750,000 bid.
