Everton have confirmed forward Magaye Gueye has left the club by mutual consent after four years at Goodison Park.

The 23-year-old signed from Strasbourg for £1m on five-year contract in 2010 but made just 39 appearances, the majority as substitute.

Last season Gueye played just nine minutes for Everton under manager Roberto Martinez, coming off the bench against Stevenage in an FA Cup fourth-round tie.

Although Gueye had another year to run on his contract he came to an agreement with the club to leave this summer.

A statement from Everton read: "The club would like to thank Magaye for his contribution over the last four years and wish him every success for the future."
