Everton defender Matthew Pennington has returned to Tranmere on loan in a deal which was funded by Rovers supporters.
The right-back, 19, enjoyed a fruitful first spell at Prenton Park earlier this season, playing nine times before he was recalled by his parent club.
He will now return to Rovers for the rest of the season, though, after the club acquired funds from the Tranmere Rovers Supporters Trust to facilitate the loan switch.
"I'm really pleased to bring Matthew back to Prenton Park," assistant manager John McMahon, handling first-team affairs since Ronnie Moore was suspended, told Tranmere's official website.
"I thought he got better and better in his first spell with us and I'm sure he'll quickly settle back in at the club.
"I'd like to thank the Tranmere Rovers Trust for helping us. It's a fantastic gesture from our supporters and I'm sure Matthew will repay them with his performances.
"The eight remaining matches of the season are massive for us and it's good to see the supporters backing the club in this way."
