Tranmere Rovers have extended Matthew Pennington's loan deal from Everton by a further month.

The 19-year-old joined Ronnie Moore's side at the start of January and has helped them claim eight points in his six games, including the winner against Crewe. Pennington, who has yet to make his first-team debut for the Toffees, is enjoying playing regular football and hopes to continue his development. "I'm glad to get some league games under my belt, which will hopefully improve my ability," the defender told Everton's official website. "I've been grateful for the chance to regularly get 90 minutes on the pitch and I think that's where I'll get better." On his strike in the 1-0 victory over Crewe on January 25, he added: "It's always nice to get a goal. I thought I was due one to be fair - I'd not scored for a while."
