Everton manager David Moyes has urged on-loan Royston Drenthe to play to the whistle and not wait for referees to award free-kicks.
Question marks have been raised over the Dutchman's willingness to stay on his feet, but the Goodison Park tactician does not believe Drenthe goes down too easily.
The Scot's only worry is that if a free-kick is not forthcoming for the Real Madrid man then he needs to get up and get involved in the action as soon as possible.
"I don't worry that he goes down too easily," explained Moyes on Drenthe. "It's just that once he does go down he's got to get back up. That's it.
Waiting
"We can't play with a man short in that period after. We have got to get everybody back. He can't be looking and waiting on referees to give him fouls."
Everton take on Swansea on Saturday and following a sluggish start to their recent games Moyes is eager for his charges to hit the ground running at the Liberty Stadium.
Phil Bardsley scored in the 12th minute of the Toffees' FA Cup draw with Sunderland while Thomas Vermaelen's early opener sealed a 1-0 win for Arsenal in midweek.
"We haven't started well in our last three games," he continued. "It's something I need to make sure doesn't happen again. It's taking us longer to get up to the right speed."
