Leicester City have hinted at an interest in signing Everton striker Yakubu during the January transfer window.
Yakubu has struggled for goals for the Toffees this season and has scored just once in 14 Premier League appearances.
Everton boss David Moyes is keen to bring in striking reinforcements during the coming weeks and that has placed a question mark over Yakubu's future at Goodison Park.
The Nigerian was a target for West Ham United during the summer transfer window and has now popped up on Leicester's radar.
A loan or permanent move to the Walkers Stadium has been mooted and assistant manager Derek Fazackerley would not rule out a bid for the 28-year-old.
Fazackerley said: "He is one of many big names that have been linked to us.
"If he is not getting a regular game he is the type of player we would like to sign."
Yakubu joined Everton in a big-money deal from Middlesbrough in 2007 and he has scored 29 goals in 107 appearances for the club.
