Wolves keeper mulling over international future

Wolves goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann has admitted he is unsure about his future with the USA team. Hahnemann has not retired from international football but at the age of 37 he is starting to question whether he wants to be part of the squad. With Everton's Tim Howard the established number one and Brad Guzan of Aston Villa also in contention, Hahnemann does not know whether he should keep travelling such long distances if he is not going to play. But for the moment Hahnemann, who went to the World Cup in 2006 and 2010, has informed national team manager Bob Bradley that he remains available for selection. "I haven't played the last few times I've been called up and travelled," said the former Reading man. "You question whether it's worth going at all. So I don't know (about my future). We'll see. "Do you take yourself out of the running? The way I left it was I told Bob Bradley, 'if you need me, give me a call'.

Remote

"If you're playing well for your club then you want to play for your country. It's the next step. "It's nice not having guys travelling all over the place. "Then you get back on the Thursday, train (with your club) on Friday and then it's the game." Hahnemann accepts that his chances of pushing for a regular starting spot at such a late stage of his career are remote. He added: "Tim has been number one for a while and they've got Brad Guzan coming through who's a good keeper. "I think they're okay. Like I said, the way left it was 'if you need me, call me' but I was glad we didn't have a game in the last international break and I didn't have to fly back somewhere. "It was nice to have a rest."
