Yakubu Aiyegbeni is confident he can break the 20-goal barrier and improve on his debut season at Everton.

The Nigerian striker notched 21 goals for the Toffees in all competitions last term following his big-money move from Middlesbrough.

He has already scored twice in the Premier League so far this season and is predicting another prolific campaign at Goodison Park.

"I'm confident about scoring more than 20 goals again this season," Yakubu told the Daily Star Sunday.

"I've had to work harder since joining Everton, but I'm not complaining because I'm enjoying the best spell of my career.

"David Moyes has made us believe in ourselves. He can't bear losing and you can imagine how pleased I was to hit the 20-goal mark last season.

"It's not easy to do that, but with the quality players we have and the work we put in, I believe I can score even more this time."
