Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has vowed to continue scoring goals after notching up his 100th goal in English football.

The Nigerian reached the milestone with the second goal in Everton's 2-1 win at West Brom on Saturday to add to his strike in the opening-day defeat to Blackburn.

Yakubu was delighted to reach the landmark and he is hoping to maintain his rich vein of form by helping Everton qualify for Europe again.

"It's a great feeling to score 100 goals in English football," Yakubu told the club's official website.

"I have to thank the players too, it's not just me - I couldn't score without them.

"It gives me more encouragement to score more goals.

"I just want to score goals to help the team finish in Europe again."
