Danish midfielder parts company with SPL champions

Celtic have confirmed that midfielder Thomas Gravesen has parted company with the club. The 32-year-old joined the Scottish giants from Real Madrid in 2006 but struggled to establish himself in Gordon Strachan's first-team plans. Gravesen returned to his former club Everton on loan last season but failed to secure a permanent move to Goodison. Earlier this summer Strachan indicated the Dane had no future with the SPL champions, and the club have now confirmed his departure. A statement on the club's official website read: "Celtic Football Club, Thomas Gravesen and Thomas's representatives have agreed that he will part company with the club. "Thomas wishes Celtic every success and, likewise, the club wishes Thomas all the very best for the future."
