Everton are hoping to conclude the permanent signing of on-loan midfielder Steven Pienaar by the end of the week.
Pienaar, who is spending the season at Goodison Park from Borussia Dortmund, raised doubts about his future with the Toffees last week.
He admitted the 'clock was ticking' for Everton to finalise a £2.2million deal before the end of April, otherwise he would look at offers from elsewhere.
Prior to the weekend, David Moyes expressed his belief that it was merely an agent's fee that was holding up the transfer.
And a club spokesman has now confirmed that Pienaar's permanent move to Merseyside should be confirmed in the coming days.
"The deal has been in place for some time and the final points are now being worked on," said the spokesman.
"It should be sorted out before the end of the week."
