Everton duo Steven Pienaar and Tim Cahill have withdrawn from their respective international squads for this week's round of fixtures.
The South African Football Association has confirmed Pienaar has withdrawn due to a bout of flu.
Pienaar missed Everton's 1-1 draw with West Ham at the weekend and has been replaced in South Africa's squad by Lerato Chabangu for the Paraguay clash.
Cahill is out of the Australia squad for the World Cup qualifier with China as he has suffered a reoccurrence of a long-standing foot injury.
The influential midfielder hobbled out of Saturday's game against West Ham and is a major doubt for the forthcoming Merseyside derby.
