Simon Davey has outlined his intention to keep three loan players at Barnsley in the New Year.
Derby County duo Lewin Nyatanga and Jon Macken, along with Everton's Anderson de Silva, are all due to return to their parent clubs shortly.
Anderson heads back to Goodison Park after Saturday's game with Bristol City, while Nyatanga and Macken leave Barnsley on 1st January.
But Tykes boss Davey has confirmed that talks are already under way to ensure all three players stay at Oakwell.
"There are conversations going on between the club, Everton and Derby County about keeping all three players here in the New Year," Davey told the club's official website.
"We should have answers on those shortly.
"Anderson goes back after this weekend's game with Bristol while Lewin and Jon are up on January 1. I would like to keep all three."
Macken has yet to score in nine appearances for Barnsley, Nyatanga has been a regular in defence, while midfielder Anderson is enjoying his second spell at the club this season.
