Everton striker Andy Johnson was pleased to end rumours over his future by signing a new deal at Goodison Park.
Johnson pledged his long-term future to Everton by signing a new five-year deal on Tuesday.
The England international's future had been the subject of intense speculation, prior to inking the new contract, and Johnson hopes the news will finally end all the rumours.
Delighted"I am absolutely delighted [to sign a new deal]," Johnson told the Liverpool Daily Post. "There was no doubt that I was staying, the rumours in some of the newspapers were rubbish.
"The rumours were starting to get stupid, they were coming out every two or three weeks and it was pathetic."
