David Moyes is sweating on the fitness of Andy Johnson and Leon Osman for Everton's Uefa Cup tie with Metalist Kharkiv.
The duo sat out Sunday's 2-0 Premier League win over Middlesbrough with groin injuries, and are battling to be available for Thursday's game in Ukraine.
Johnson has yet to score for Everton this season and missed two penalties in the 1-1 draw with Metalist in the first leg.
But Moyes is anxious for Johnson, and midfielder Osman, to be in his squad for the second leg in Eastern Europe.
"Andrew Johnson picked up a groin injury in training on Thursday," the Everton boss told the club's official website.
"Both AJ and Leon Osman have groin injuries, so they are both missing.
"They are integral parts of the team and I am hoping to have them back for Thursday, but I am not sure yet.
"We know he (Johnson) would be important for us in the Ukraine because we need to score goals out there to get through."
