Middlesbrough have confirmed they have agreed a deal with Everton for Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier this month Everton were leading the chase for the Nigerian international
The two clubs have been locked in talks for the last few weeks and have now finally agreed terms.
Portsmouth and West Ham were also interested, but the player's first option was always to seal a move to Goodison Park.
Boro had been looking for £12million the 24-year-old - but they have relented and accepted a deal worth just over £11million.
Yakubu, who trained with Middlesbrough on Wednesday, is now due on Merseyside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
The Nigerian will become Everton's record signing and if all goes according to plan he should be available to make his Toffees debut against Blackburn on Saturday.
