David Moyes believes Leighton Baines will be ready for his Everton debut in a week.
The former Wigan full-back trained for the first time on Monday, after sitting out Saturday's Barclays Premier League opener against his former club with a hamstring injury.
Baines will not be involved at Tottenham, but Moyes said: "We are looking forward to getting him involved.
"He trained for the first time on Monday since he joined us - but he will need a week before we can really consider him."
Unchanged
Everton are expected to field an unchanged side at White Hart Lane with James McFadden back in the squad after a knee injury.
"We seem to be okay in terms of injuries after the weekend win over Wigan," said Moyes.
"James McFadden has done some training, and I will add him to the squad.
"He has missed a lot of pre-season work - but because of the shortage up front, I will be bringing him into the squad."
Everton are still trying to sign a striker and a midfielder, with another approach likely for Middlesbrough's Yakubu - while the club are close to tying up a £6million move for Manuel Fernandes to return from Benfica.
Moyes said: "I think we are getting closer [on the transfer front], but I couldn't say at the moment if anything is done or not done - I am leaving that to the club to sort out."
Even though a striker is needed following the sale of James Beattie and the injury to James Vaughan, Moyes is more than happy with teenager Victor Anichebe, who scored the second goal against Wigan.
He said: "Young Victor has now got some experience. It is a big ask for him just now. But he is more than capable of standing up to it, and getting a goal will give him a lot of confidence."
