Leighton Baines is closing in on a move to Everton after a deal was agreed with Wigan Athletic.
The full-back has already turned down a switch to Sunderland this summer and has also been linked with Newcastle United.
However, the England Under 21 international appears likely to stay in the North West after travelling to Goodison Park for talks.
Wigan have accepted an offer from their Premier League rivals - believed to be in the region of £6million - and Baines will undergo a medical on Monday.
He will also negotiate personal terms, with Everton confident of presenting the left-back as their latest signing.
Toffees assistant manager Alan Irvine revealed at the weekend that the club are 'hopeful' of bringing Baines to the club.
Baines watched Everton's friendly with Werder Bremen last week to fuel suggestions that David Moyes' side are his preferred option.
