The Everton striker severed an artery in Everton's 1-1 draw at Bolton on Easter Monday, but there had been concerns the injury could be long-term.
However, after further assessment at the nearby Beaumont Hospital, it has been confirmed that there has been no lasting damage and the player simply needs to keep his leg elevated.
"Obviously, we're delighted it's not a break or anything like that," said manager David Moyes.
Vaughan has had major injury problems in his young career, but has looked to be regaining his sharpness of late.
And after he scored the equalising goal in Bolton game, Moyes was happy to praise him for his efforts.
"He was terrific. It's as if he has that freshness back - that youthfulness after not playing for most of the season."
