Everton striker Andy Johnson has angrily denied reports that he is unsettled on Merseyside.

Reports on Thursday suggested that Johnson was seeking a move back to the South of England, after failing to settle in Liverpool following his move from Crystal Palace last summer.

However, the England striker has criticised the reports - insisting he is loving life with Everton.

"If I could sign here for the rest of my career I would do it tomorrow," he told the club's website.

"I am more than happy here, I love the club, the fans and the lads in the dressing room.

"I am sure the fans can see how much I love it here in my football but I want to make it clear there is no truth in this report - I am loving being an Everton player and I regard it as a great honour to put that blue shirt on every week.

"I would love to think I will still be here in seven years."

Johnson has bagged 11 goals since joining The Toffees in the summer and has emerged as a real crowd favourite.
