Everton have recalled goalkeeper John Ruddy from his loan spell at Stockport.
David Moyes has made the move as Tim Howard is ineligible for the midweek clash with Manchester United, as loan players in The Premiership are not allowed to play against parent clubs.
Therefore Richard Wright will come in for his first start of the season, while Ruddy will take his place on the bench as Everton's other senior keeper Iain Turner is loan at Crystal Palace - and Moyes has opted to recall Ruddy.
Meanwhile, Gary Naysmith has returned to training following a groin problem.
"Gary is fine, he is doing absolutely everything we have asked," said Everton physio Mick Rathbone.
"He has been blasting the ball around and we just want to ease him back into full training."
