Cardiff City have handed trials to Libya captain Tarek El Taib and French striker Guillaume Plessis.
The 29-year-old El Taib is an attacking midfielder who skippered the North African nation at the African Cup of Nations finals in Egypt earlier this year.
El Taib is looking for pastures new after leaving Turkish club Gaziantepspor, though the midfielder did not feature for The Bluebirds in either of their two pre-season friendlies on Tuesday.
The Libyan international did not travel on the club's pre-season tour of Canada and United States on Wednesday, but will have a chance to impress later in the summer.
Former France Under-18 international Plessis comes to Ninian Park from Ligue 1 club Nantes, having been under contract to Premiership side Everton last season.
The former Lens hit-man will also hope to catch the eye of manager Dave Jones in the near future.
With Cardiff heading to British Columbia and Washington State for a series of pre-season games, right back Rhys Weston has been left behind by the South Wales outfit.
The former Arsenal player's future now looks uncertain, despite appearing in the Cardiff XI that defeated Carmarthen Town 1-0 on Tuesday.
