David Moyes has rejected reports linking Everton with Mark Viduka.Everton boss David Moyes has rejected reports linking them with a move for Middlesbrough's Mark Viduka.
Reports earlier this week claimed Everton were lining up a move for the Australian international.
Moyes is keen to bring in a new striker to bolster his attack, but he insists he has no interest in Viduka.
"You can rule out Mark Viduka," said Moyes.
"Ideally we are looking for another centre forward.
"But every name you mention, we have probably already been there and tried it. It is not through the want of looking, it is just a question of finding the right players.
"I am not confident of finding the right player before the window closes. But we are scouring and keeping it going to find something we think we could help us.
"The board have given me that money (from Kroldrup) but I don't think the players we would genuinely want are available."
Moyes also wished Per Kroldrup well after his disappointing spell on Merseyside.
The Danish international has sealed his return back to Italy with Fiorentina after a disappointing six-month spell at Goodison Park.
"It was the right time for Per Kroldrup to move on. He has been very unfortunate not to have played more," added Moyes.
"We watched him play for Denmark, we felt he was the right one to come in.
"But since he was here there have been bits of his play I was not happy about.
"He is probably more suited to playing in Italy. He's a great lad, I got on really well with him but the opportunity for him to go back to Italy and join Fiorentina was a good one.
"It was a football decision taken by me and the right thing to do at this time."
