Everton's injury crisis appears to be easing with manager David Moyes preparing to welcome back Nigel Martyn and Per Kroldrup for Saturday's match at Portsmouth.

Former England international goalkeeper Martyn has been struggling with a hamstring injury sustained at Blackburn last month, while Dane Kroldrup has endured an injury-ravaged start to his Premiership career.

Kroldrup, a £5 million summer signing from Udinese, has been suffering from foot and ankle problems all season and has made just one appearance for the club.

Meanwhile, fellow long-term absentees Lee Carsley and Gary Naysmith will return to action for The Toffees in Tuesday's reserve meeting with Bolton.

Both Carsley and Naysmith have yet to feature for the Merseysiders this season after knee and ankle injuries respectively but Moyes will soon be able to call on the pair.

"We have lacked a bit of competition in key positions. But in general the midfield players have done very well," Moyes told the club's official website.

"It has probably been our strongest area but if we can get Gary and Lee back that will give us a little bit more."
