Everton boss David Moyes has reassured Richard Wright that he still has a future at Goodison Park.

The former Ipswich custodian has played second fiddle to Nigel Martyn over the past couple of seasons and has seen his international ambitions falter.

Wright has previously won two caps for England but since moving to Merseyside has been reduced to a periphery role due to the form of Martyn.

A recent calf  problem recently forced the 38-year-old to the sidelines but Wright failed to convince with a series of indifferent displays in his absence.

However, Moyes is still confident the player can rediscover the type of form that once earned him a move to Arsenal.

''The decision to bring Nigel back was made because of his performances over the past 16 months,'' revealed Moyes.

''I have a great deal of faith in Richard Wright but he is the first to admit that he could have done better in some of the games.''
