Everton defender David Weir has been recalled to the Scotland squad.
Everton defender David Weir has been recalled to the Scotland squad by Walter Smith.
Smith has named a squad for a training camp in Manchester between February 6 and February 9.
Leeds United keeper Neil Sullivan is also in the party, as are Hearts' Paul Hartley and Hibernian striker Derek Riordan.
"Walter's asked me to come back and play again so I'm delighted to come back into the fold," Weir told Sky Sports News.
"I spoke to some people and just thought about it. I enjoyed playing for Scotland for many years and then went from enjoying it to not enoying it so I'm coming back to have another go at it.
"It was horrible and a bad time for me. It was a big decision to stop playing. I wasn't happy to leave on that note so hopefully I can get back involved and have better times with Scotland."
Weir admits his club form could be affected by a return to international duty but is hopeful he can combine both tasks again.
"It's definitely a factor but I've spoken to Walter and the manager here [David Moyes] and they're both positive about it.
"I'm realistic; I'm 34 and I'm not going to be here forever so I'll take one game at a time but I'll give it my best and see how it goes and I'm sure Walter will make decisions after that."
