Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp must prepare for Everton's visit to Fratton Park without suspended duo Patrik Berger and Arjan De Zeeuw.
On-loan striker Jason Roberts is poised to return after five games out with an ankle injury while Vincent Pericard is also back after a thigh problem.
Dejan Stefanovic will return to the starting line-up after missing last weekend's 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough because of a virus and Redknapp will be hoping his side can halt their alarming recent slump.
Yakubu Aiyegbeni was the last Pompey star to score back on November 8, but they will hope to build on their goalless draw with Boro last time out.
Everton have injury doubts over full back Tony Hibbert and centre half Joseph Yobo for the trip to Portsmouth.
Hibbert picked up an ankle injury last weekend against Manchester City, while Yobo is suffering from a neck problem.
Should they fail to recover, boss David Moyes faces severe defensive problems with David Weir and Alessandro Pistone also out.
Pistone has returned to training after further medical treatment in Italy for his hernia problem, but will not be fit for action until next week.
Everton are also expected to recall striker Kevin Campbell after a successful reserve run-out following a season of muscle problems, and he will partner either Wayne Rooney, Francis Jeffers or Tomasz Radzinski up-front.
Rooney has been substituted in his last two games by Moyes, and with The Toffees' front-line boasting a poor record of just three goals in their last six games, the Goodison faithful will be desperate for a change in fortune.
Steve Watson is also in contention after missing eight games with a hernia injury.
