A SUPERB first half showing from Everton paved the way for a comfortable 3-1 win over Fulham at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Inspired by the returning Wayne Rooney, The Toffees ran out convincing winners to record their first success of the season.
Fulham have a very poor record at Goodison Park and that never looked like changing once Gary Naysmith fired the hosts in front after seven minutes with a fine strike from the edge of the area.
Everton doubled their lead on 21 minutes with David Unsworth finishing off a neat move involving Steve Watson and Naysmith.
The home side continued their dominance and added a third after 35 minutes with Wayne Rooney setting up Watson for a simple tap in.
Fulham battled valiantly in the second half and pulled a goal back on 69 minutes with substitute Barry Hayles turning inside the box and firing past Richard Wright.
