AFRICAN midfielder Alex Nyarko may not complete his expected summer switch to PSG from Everton, as bitter rivals Marseille could step in to sign him at the end of the season.

The Ghanaian international is currently on loan from Everton and doing well, but PSG are yet to take up their option to sign him permanently.

Should Luis Fernandez not take up the option before the end of the transfer window, Everton will be able to negotiate with other clubs over his sale.

For the moment, the PSG officials don't want to pay the ‚é¼4.5 million asked by Everton and the player's agent will meet with Goodison Park officials soon to try to decrease the fee.

This has alerted Marseille boss Alain Perrin who has been impressed with the 29-year-old's showing in Le Championnat so far this season.

Meanwhile, l'OM are close to sealing a move for Swedish starlet Alexander Farnerud, after they made a ‚é¼1.5 million offer to Landskrona a couple of days ago.

The final deal could be settled by the end of the week, while the club also wait for an answer from Nottingham Forest who are keen to sign Benjamin Gavanon.
