BLACKBURN ROVERS are the latest club to be linked with a move for Celta Vigo full back Juanfran.

Reports in Spain suggest that the Lancashire club and Benfica are vying for the 27-year-old's signature, after Celta ruled out the possibility of letting the Spanish international leave on a loan deal.

Premiership duo Birmingham City and Everton had both been keen to take the star on a temporary basis until the end of the season, but were rebuffed by the Galician outfit.

Juanfran has admitted he would seriously consider a move to Lisbon-based giants Benfica given that former Spanish national team boss Jose Antonio Camacho has taken over the reins at the club.

But it now seems Blackburn have the player in their sights, after seeing a deal for Belgian full back Philippe Leonard fall through at the last minute earlier in the week.
