BERTI VOGTS has named his squad for the Euro 2004 qualifier with Iceland, with Aberdeen's Russell Anderson and Birmingham`s Paul Devlin handed chances to make their international debuts.

The young Dons defender has impressed Vogts with a string of composed performances this term, and is likely to earn his first cap in the October 12 clash.

Birmingham midfielder Devlin has also been given the nod after taking the step up to The Premiership in his stride.

Devlin expressed delight at his call up, saying: "I spoke to Berti Vogts yesterday, and I jumped at the chance.

"I am born and bred in Birmingham, but go back to Scotland every year to see family and friends.

"We are on a downer at the minute, but I am looking forward to helping put that right.

"This is new to me, having never won a cap, but I`m sure I will soon find out what it is all about."

West Ham`s Christian Dailly has settled his differences with Vogts following the draw with the Faroe Islands but, as expected, David Weir has not been included.

The squad will stay together after the qualifier to take on Canada in a friendly the following Tuesday.
