BOLTON WANDERERS are reportedly plotting a loan swoop for coveted Paris Saint Germain youngster Bernard Mendy.

The 20-year-old full back has been linked with a switch to The Reebok as Trotters boss Sam Allardyce continues his summer strengthening programme.

Allardyce has already clinched deals for Mendy's compatriot Youri Djorkaeff, Akin Bulent and his former PSG team-mate Augustine 'Jay Jay' Okocha.

With Delroy Facey also heading for Bolton, Allardyce has significantly bolstered his armoury and if he can add Mendy to his ranks, he will enhance the club's prospects of Premiership survival.

The Bolton chief, though, will face stiff competition to capture Mendy as French outfit Lens are also keen on landing the youngster.

Bolton's Premiership rivals Everton and Fulham have also been touted as possible destinations for Mendy, who is tipped for a switch to England before the advent of the new campaign.

Mendy could discuss a season-long loan deal to Bolton early this week, after accruing valuable first team experience during the past two seasons.
