BARNSLEY have taken Everton's out-of-favour striker Danny Cadamarteri on a week's trial.
The 22-year-old has been told by the Merseyside club that he has no future at Goodison Park, following an incident in a Liverpool nightclub earlier this year which lead to him being charged with assault by Police.
The player has since been linked with moves to Bradford, Stoke, Millwall and Burnley, but now he has accepted the chance to try his luck Barnsley.
"Danny has agreed to come down this week so we can have a look at him," said The Tykes chief scout Russell Richardson.
"There is no doubting his ability but we will have to wait and see whether he wants to do it for Barnsley Football Club."
Bradford-born Cadamarteri is obviously tempted by the opportunity to move back to his Yorkshire roots and will hope to impress during his week-long stay in Barnsley.
