Elleray has come under fire from both camps, with Hoddle claiming that neither challenge was worthy of a red card, while Smith was flabbergasted that the official failed to see Taricco`s reckless over the top tackle that resulted in Gravesen taking a trip to hospital to have stitches inserted in a deep leg wound.
Hoddle spoke to the official after the game and informed him that he would be appealing, and Elleray has agreed to review a number of incidents from the heated encounter.
Although Spurs will be happy that the Harrow referee will look at the two dismissals, it could backfire as Elleray may concede that he was too lenient with Taricco.
Hoddle admitted that the Argentinian was wrong, saying: " I have told Taricco that it was a bad tackle. But the referee has agreed to look at the video and you have to accept the outcome."
Smith expressed his anger at Taricco`s challenge, adding: "Taricco`s badly cut Gravesen`s foot by going over the top - so I don't see how the referee sent Poyet off and not Taricco."
On a bad night for Elleray, Smith questioned how he disallowed a goal from Niclas Alexandersson in first-half stoppage time, comenting: "The ref must be the only one in the stadium who saw an infringement."
