PARMA are the latest club to be linked with prolific but troublesome striker Mario Jardel, with Galatasaray desperate to rid themselves of the Brazilian marksman.

Jardel has been a major dissenter to life in Turkey and become an irritant to the rest of the Galatasaray squad, and the club have come close to offloading the striker several times in the last few weeks.

A bid from Marseille faltered at the last minute, and fellow Le Championnat side Monaco remain in the chase for the South American.

However, Parma have been unveiled in the Italian press as a major contender for Jardel, where he could join the likes of new signings Hidetoshi Nakata and Sebastien Frey.

With Monaco offering two players as part of the deal, something that has proved very tempting to Galatasaray, the Principality side still lead the chase.

Indeed, the French press suggest that both Wagneau Eloi and Nicolas Bonnal are keen to move to Turkey and have the chance to play in the Champions League, and only the finer points of Jardel's contract remain to be tied up.

Gala coach Mircea Lucescu is keen on Bonnal but would prefer Marcelo Gallardo instead of Eloi.

Should Jardel join Monaco then he could well be playing alongside Everton misfit Alex Nyarko, who is expected to complete a move to France in the coming week.
