DOUBLE LINK FOR TOFFEES

EVERTON have been linked with a move for Milan star Taribo West, while speculation on Saturday suggests that veteran striker Mark Hughes may leave Goodison Park for Leicester.

It is claimed that Toffees manager Walter Smith has spoken to the Serie A giants with a view to taking the Nigerian international to the Premiership, where the player is keen to prove himself.

The 26-year-old is available on a free transfer after an unhappy spell since moving from local rivals Internazionale, and Smith is expected to follow up his interest in the player next week.

Meanwhile, 37-year-old Hughes has been linked with a move to Leicester, who are looking to strengthen their strikeforce in anticipation of the exit of Stan Collymore.

Hughes has been linked with a move to Blackburn this week, although that was rubbished, and the vacant Cardiff City manager's post, but he is keen to continue playing and may be interested in a move to Filbert Street should Smith accept an approach from The Foxes.
