SUNDERLAND will lead the chase to sign Scotland international Don Hutchison, after the midfielder labelled Everton`s latest contract offer a "disgrace."

The man who scored the goal that defeated England at Wembley, in the Euro 2000 play-off, looks set to quit Goodison in the near future. And Reid will be looking to raid his former club again.

"I have watched four or five top quality games since we were beaten at Coventry," admitted The Black Cats` boss. "But there`s hardly any top quality strikers available.

"I think Hutchison is a good player and I have seen on Teletext what he`s said," he added. "It`s one we will certainly be monitoring."

The Wearsiders already have former Toffeemen John Oster and Gavin McCann on their books but the latter`s injury has forced Reid into a desperate search in the transfer market.
