Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas targets victory over Arsenal

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he wants to move a step closer to winning the title by beating former side Arsenal this weekend, live on Sky Sports.

The Spain international, who made more than 300 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, won just one FA Cup title during his eight-year spell at the club.

And, as well as ending his own wait for the top prize in English football, Fabregas is keen to secure the title for the fans who last saw their side win the league in 2010.

"We just want to win it,” he said. “The sooner, the better.

“We want to give satisfaction to the supporters. It's been five years for them without winning the Premier League title; for me it's been 27 years so I'd love to win it as soon as possible.”

'Massive'

Chelsea go into Sunday’s match at the Emirates 10 points clear of Arsenal, who reached the FA Cup final for a second successive season on Saturday.

Wenger ended his nine-year trophy drought in the competition last season, but the Arsenal boss is yet to overcome a Chelsea side managed by Jose Mourinho.

And a third Premier League title for Mourinho would equal Wenger's haul of English top-flight titles.

Victory over Arsenal would mean Chelsea require just three more points to become champions, which could happen as soon as the following Wednesday at Leicester, live on Sky Sports.

"It's massive,” Fabregas told chelseafc.com. “We are level on games now, we are 10 points in front and we don't want to give them hope to put pressure on us.

"We have to put in a good performance because we know the Emirates is always a difficult place to go."

You can see all of Chelsea’s remaining league matches this season live on Sky Sports.
