Champions League: Manchester City's trip to Barcelona one of 12 eye-catching round-of-16 ties live on Sky Sports

Sky Sports have revealed the TV schedule for their coverage of the upcoming Champions League round-of-16 ties, with Manchester City’s crucial second-leg trip to take on La Liga giants Barcelona the undoubted standout fixture of the 12 on display.

The draw for the knockout phase of Europe’s premier club competition, which resumes again in February 2015, was made at UEFA's headquarters in Switzerland on Monday afternoon.

Manchester City lost 2-1 at Barcelona, bowing out of the Champions League 4-1 on aggregate

Of the eight ties that came out of the hat in Nyon, however, it was the Premier League champions’ pairing with the four-time champions of Europe that really caught the eye, especially given that the duo were also drawn alongside each other at the same stage in last season's competition.

And Sky Sports will show City's decisive visit to Camp Nou at 7.45pm on Wednesday March 18, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men looking to gain revenge for their 4-1 aggregate defeat to the Catalans in the round of 16 in March.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports will also be screening Arsenal's first-leg encounter with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco at the Emirates on Wednesday February 25, as the north London club aim to win the Champions League for the very first time in their history.

Thierry Henry is joining Sky Sports

This clash will pit Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger against the side he coached with huge success in the late Eighties and early Nineties. Gunners legend Thierry Henry - announced on Tuesday as a new Sky Sports football expert - will be a particularly keen observer of this tie, having started his professional career at Monaco.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports will bring you Chelsea's key second-leg clash against Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday March 11, again another repeat fixture from last season.

And no doubt Blues manager Jose Mourinho will be confident of achieving a similar result as to that which he achieved in April, when the west Londoners eliminated the Parisians in dramatic fashion on away goals at the quarter-final stage thanks to a last-gasp Demba Ba strike in the capital.

So make sure you tune in for that fascinating encounter, as well as the 11 other live round-of-16 contests that we will be bringing you across February and March...
