Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has stated his delight at making his first appearance in seven months following injury.

The 20-year-old midfielder suffered cruciate ligament damage in February whilst on loan at Wolves, and was a 72nd-minute substitute in the Gunners' 6-1 Capital One Cup victory over Coventry City. Manager Arsene Wenger will be encouraged by the return of the Ghanaian-born midfielder, particularly after the loss of Alex Song to Barcelona this summer.

Arsenal scored three further goals after the Frimpong's introduction, and after the match the youngster took to Twitter to thank supporters for his reception.

"The way the fans treated me today has made me realise if I work hard and achieve my goals at Arsenal I can be remembered for ever I thank you," he tweeted.

Frimpong has made fourteen appearances for Arsenal since his debut in September 2011.
