Arsenal youngster agrees season-long loan

Young Arsenal striker Joel Campbell has joined Real Betis on a season-long loan deal, the Primera Liga side have announced. It is the second long-term loan spell arranged for the 20-year-old Costa Rica international, who spent last term in France with Lorient. Campbell scored three goals in 27 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit and Arsene Wenger believes that his development will be benefited by another spell gaining further first-team experience. The forward passed his medical with the Spanish outfit on Thursday before putting pen to paper on the deal for the coming season. Campbell joined Arsenal from Deportivo Saprissa in August 2011 and is still to make his first-team bow for the North London club. The summer signings of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud mean that he has slipped further down the pecking order with the Gunners.
